UK RGGO - Waste (certified, subsidised) - 2025

This assessment represents the price of the transfer of subsidised waste-based biomethane Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin (RGGOs) produced in the UK in 2025 under the Green Gas Certification Scheme (GGCS). The assessment reflects RGGOs that are certified by a RED-compliant scheme and with a carbon intensity of between 0 gCO2e/MJ and 25 gCO2e/MJ. Bids, offers and deals must represent trade for a minimum of one GWh. Certified RGGOs have had their feedstocks, origin, production process and carbon intensity verified by a national or EU-recognised certification scheme and can often command a premium value versus uncertified RGGOs. Subsidised RGGOs have received state support for their production and so are typically cheaper than unsubsidised RGGOs, but may face limitations in cross-border trade and in their use to meet national transport renewable energy and emission reduction compliance targets.
