We are in the process of building our product and are seeking highly talented individuals to join us as we seek to become a one-stop shop for energy and environmental market data and news.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our commodity intelligence business on the commercial side at a very early stage of our development.

We are looking for sales-focused, business development and account managers to help build our sales department as we seek to commercialise our news, prices and data services to a broad audience.

We believe it’s a rare opportunity to join a handful of highly-experienced journalists and energy industry professionals as we seek to fulfil our goal of becoming a leading one-stop shop that provides accurate, reliable and accessible news and data on energy and environmental markets.

While we have some ideas on the role, we expect the successful candidate to bring theirs by tapping into their own experience working in similar businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential users in both traditional and non-traditional industries to help build a database of potential clients
  • Raise our brand awareness at senior levels within larger organisations that have a need for energy and environmental data
  • Develop our product by providing user feedback
  • Help clients realise the value of what we bring
  • Close sales at all levels at the appropriate moment

Experience and competencies

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in commodity data sales, ranging from lead-sourcing to closing and renewing
  • A deep understanding of risk management and how data is used to mitigate risk
  • A proven track record of hitting targets and building networks in new areas
  • A hands-on attitude and a keenness to work as part of a small, fast-moving, hard-working team
  • Demonstrable experience as a self-starter that works well under pressure
  • Fluent in English and one other European language
